How to Drive at Spa

Cripes... there's so waaaay too interesting moments in that lap... looks like huge fun but sideways up Eau Rouge and round Blanchimont is NOT survivable for 6 hours...

Of course, I shall take this opportunity to embed a link to the official (! ;-) ) guide to driving Spa if you really want to scare someone:

These dutch drivers are VERY spectacular. I saw them at the 6 hours a couple of years ago and they were entering Eau Rouge (from the 24 Hour pits) sideways. Will look for the video (I actually posted it here a while back).

Here it is

wow, thats quite some driving, I assume the cars are all on Ls so slide a lot more, but even so, thats quite a lot of sliding. Also looked pretty close some of the cars. Take the exit of blanchimont (spelling?) takes 2 early 911s across the kerbs on the exit!

Ohboyohboyohboy -as much as I enjoyed the Primera, that little two litre 911 was really being worked -certainly got his money's worth for the amount of track used.....[;)]

And I loved the little point to the mirror..................[:D]

I sometimes overtook 6 cars there. Very easy. They all queue up (bus stop!). Cars seem to hug the left hand side. Why? I was baffled every lap. It's best to end on the right hand side (avoiding, at all costs, driving on the green plastic matting they got from the veg counter at the supermarket) and gun it down the right hand side of the track down to the chicane. [:D]

Think he's actually touching the mirror to stop it vibrating on the straight so he can see if anything is coming up behind him.... def. a cooooool customer... but tiring to watch let alone drive like that for 6 hours!!!
And as you say, for amount of track used he deserves to pay a supplement on the entry fee ;-)
