This is my first use of the forum so I apologise in advance if this is a much asked question! I have a 1996 993 Carrera auto with 80000 miles on clock. At last service in 2015 I was advised to put an agreed valuation for £40000 but looking at prices around at the moment they seem to significantly more?.How/where is the best place to get an accurate valuation?, I am in the Cheshire area.

G'day Steve

Perhaps try Kev Hughes in the next county of Lancashire at Classic Car Workshop, Coppull. He's extremely familiar with our cars at all levels - racing, maintenance, decades of experience, and always gives a real-world, honest-john value. Would likely put pen to paper on it too, if you're lucky and / or need that. Did so for mine for insurance purposes - similar spec too: Carrera 4, Vario, 1997, 92k miles, £40k. Sure, there are higher prices being charged for 993s out there but, IMHO, always comes down to market value v. insurer value in one's own specific circumstances, plus specific model and agreeing the figure at one they're gong to be happy paying out in the event of.

You're a PCGB member so you can get a valuation from them.
Email the club office (ClubOffice@porscheclubgb.com) and ask them to send you a valuation form.
