The relevant section says:
5) Unscrew two set screws - one on the bottom on one on the opposite side. The screws are coated with red paint that may need to be chipped through with your screwdriver before you can get the screw to grab. I unscrewed the bottom screw while under the dash and then from the seat I reached under and could view the top screw through the side vent area and unscrewed it. Do not remove the screws just undo them far enough to remove the ignition switch.
There is a DIY in the Technical Articles section for replacing the ignition switch. When the switch breaks up inside, it causes problems turning the barrel, which may be your problem.ORIGINAL: Pete917
Does anyone know how to remove the ignition barrel from the ignition switch assembly?
If you want to remove the barrel itself, drop me an email and I'll attach the instructions to a reply.

Nick - you have to be careful with the RennTech DIY, as it is for a left hand drive car, and the procedure is different because the lock barrel is the other way up. You can't access those screws from under the dash.
