How to sessions

Hi folks,

As a relatively new member and 996 owner I wondered whether the club or forum members organised "How to sessions". I have been astounded by the knowledge of members since logging on and it struck me that many owners would tackle far more work on their cars given the encouragement and the "been there I would avoid doing that if I was you" advice of fellow owners.

The americans who use Renntech have "working on your cars" days where groups of owners get together to do just this type of thing. I think its a great idea. Things like changing the coolant bottle that is infamous for splitting is a great example where experts at doing this type of work could show others how to achieve this fix quickly and compentently.

I actually enjoy working on my car and I think I would do more if I had the confidence of seeing it done first.

Hi Ron ,

This is exactly the sort of thing that was going through my mind. I work with children all day and know that the best way to get them to achieve is to give them the supported confidence to move outside their comfort zone. As adults we are no different, in fact we can be worse since we are often far more aware of the consequences of getting things wrong.
