How to spot fake wheels?

Guest

New member
Hi,
I've just bought some cup 2 wheels off fleabay and despite the seller insisting they are genuine Porsche items I've no idea if this is true.
What should I look for the check the wheels are genuine and not fakes?
I know the fakes are heavier but is there a code stamped on the reverse or something I should look for?
I'm due to pick them up on Monday so would love to go armed with the knowledge.
Any help gratefully received.

Cheers

Kristian

On most genuine Porsche wheel designs the wheel rim width and offset are cast in raised numbers each side of the valve stem hole.

(e.g . 7.5 valve 52)

Hi,
valves raised figures are easy way to check if the wheels are still ona car[:)]

otherwise I'm pretty sure you would find the part Nos. on the rear fo the wheels, along with the Porsche logo.

There was a link on here recently, linking to 993 technical bulletins ( see below/above - depending on when you read this )
and on one of those it listed part numbers for different wheels )
