How to tell a Club Sport

I'm looking for some quick pointers on what to look out for to tell a genuine CS from a look a like. I'm hopefully going to be on the market for one if my boxster s sells so any help would be appreciated. Thanks Rich
 
The V5 will tell you. The car itself is a little more difficult as lots of things were options between most of the models and things like the VIN from a Sport is in the same range as a CS as technically Sports left Germany as a CS. Once in the UK they were turned into the Sport model.
 
As Paul says, the V5 / VIN will tell you CS if it's a Sport or CS rather than a coupe. Both have lowered suspension so are 20mm lower than a coupe. A CS could be ordered in "fully stripped out" version with no sunroof, rear seats, electric windows etc and with Recaro colour coded bucket seats, but the optional extras list included sunroof, aircon, electrics, sports seats, M030 suspension etc.

If the previous poster is who I think it is, then his CS (black, with Techart wheels) has just gone on PH and is a beauty, it's priced to sell so I don't expect it to hang around long.

Oops, my mistake - it's a Sport with CS decals - but I still think it's a very good car.

I wonder how much that will affect price. For some reason CS's command quite a premium over Sports let alone Coupe's, but the work that has been done on the car may offset that it's a Sport not a "true" CS (if there is such a thing!). There's been numerous discussions on 968uk on this topic. It's been said a few times that, considering the price differential between a coupe and a CS, it's probably cost effective to buy a good coupe, change the suspension to CS (thus refreshing 20 year old suspension!), maybe fit the LSD, and have CS ride and performance at a far lower cost.

The whole discussion passes me by. My coupe was standard, with comfort seats, and I loved her. My cabriolet has the sports seats, which we find more comfortable as well as more supportive than the comfort seats of the coupe. Performance and road holding is more than I will ever (hopefully!) need, so although I am considering rebushing, I will not bother fitting the bits to lower the car and stiffen the suspension.
 
You mean a CS with some of the nice parts of a coupe added back! Bought by coupe wanabees

After running a Sport and a Club Sport side by side, I did it the other way round, bought the coupe in the right colour paint and interior then changed the suspension to CS, got everything in one car.[;)]
