How was Curborough?

How did it go, who went and did you enjoy it? A bit of a tight track for a 944 (or my quattro), maybe?? More suitable for something lightweight and very agile, I'd have thought.

I was going to spectate for an hour or so but had to do family stuff as I was out all day Sunday, racing at Silverstone!

It went well. I did enjoy it, but not as much as a trackday, in fact I left early about an hour from the end which I have never done before. We each did two laps from a standing start before driving back to the paddock and joining the queue for the next two lap session. With only 18 cars and 2 laps taking about a minute for both it was never very long before the next go.

There were only 5 Porsche - two 944T, a '72 911 [8D], a 997 Cab and a 997 Gt3 RS. All the other cars were Audis apart from three invited sprint cars giving a demonstration. One was a genuine Audi Ur Quattro Group B car with full spec anti lag and was simply awesome, one was an Audi A4 in what seemed like DTM spec with a rumoured 600bhp+ and the other was a very fast VW Golf GTi hybrid.

Fastest time of the day when I left was the 'DTM' A4 at 52 secs, the Quattro was down to 54 secs but had to turn off the antilag due to noise and the Golf was at 57 secs. Quickest roadcar time that I heard was 59 secs for a very well driven Elise and also the 997 Cab. The 997 GT3 RS was 60 secs dead. My best time was 32 seconds! [][8D][8D][8D]

..........but I rather stupidly forgot to do the second lap that time [8|] The Starter Marshall ripped the proverbial out of me for the rest of the day :ROFLMAO: My best actual two laps was 62.6 secs which was .2 second slower than an Audi RS2 chap that I paired up with during the day. He was very pleased with this and I knew that I could go faster but realised I was starting to get a bit competitive so decided at that point to go home before I did anything silly [:)]

Pretty good fun for £40 but it takes me lots of laps to learn corners and two at a time was not enough.
