Yep, The Black Bomber has passed the 300k milestone... Apart from finding a suitably quiet road to pull over and take pictures of the odometer (like you do), I'm not quite sure how to celebrate it... Some would say "A new car" I'm sure... I am going into Porsche Centre Bournemouth tomorrow to pick up some new wheel bearings... three out of four have been in there for 150k miles at least, so I think they have an excuse to be a little tired.

Treat her to a bit of bodywork, pull a dent or smooth a scuff or two......
Anyway congratulations to the Bomber.
Tref, mines on 280+ K but will be a few more years yet to get to 300K

Well if nothing else I think this thread is showing up people's particular kinks! Sounds like Colin is into Bdsm, Frenchy obviously likes a drink, but I am afraid Simon sounds like he is heading towards depression![]
(hmmm... What does a wash, another hundred miles or so, and thee bags of concrete in the boot say about me?!)

Go on another swift 100 mile+ drive on a nice day like today[][] dry ,sunshine...
It'll be covering another 180 before the day is out
Yay! 400k will be there before you know it. Once had a 924 Turbo with 300+k.

Flytipper!!!!!
I would give her some new oil and leave well alone, I like to think cars become self sustaining at that vintage and poking and prodding will only upset her ( ask your gran).
300K is pretty impressive. I thought my S2 was doing well and she's only approaching 200k - a mere whippersnapper by comparison!
I was musing the other day on how mileage becomes less and less relevant the greater it gets. People fuss about it when the car is only a few years old but if you were to go shopping for something really interesting (D-type, original Mini Cooper, Facel Vega, a proper old Aston, etc), is anyone concerned about the mileage? No, it's all about condition.
So, Tref, what's the condition of that Black Bomber like? Care to share some piccies? You may want to remove the bags of concrete from the boot before doing the David Bailey on it ... []
Oli.

I quite agree Oli.. You have seen Bomber, a few years ago at a Sunday morning work-in at your place... since then Bomber has had some further cosmetic, er, enhancements... Unfortunately the unique patina of Bomber just doesn't come out on film... you really do have to see it to believe it[]
