HT Leads

Hello.

My C4 had been running a bit rough of late. It turned out to be a HT lead issue. I think it may be worth investing in a complete new set.

OK I know that they are not cheap, but does anyone have any knowledge on the best ones to get?

Cheers,

Greg

I'm facing a similar dilemma, so can offer some advice:
>its difficult to find leads which are better value than std BERU types
>OPC can sell you individual leads if you can identify the faulty one.
>its possible to have your leads 'reconditioned' where the cables are replaced and ends retained. This is approx £80.

Outside of replacing the leads, have you done tests to confirm the problem? I did the lights-off arcing test. After spraying a light mist of water onto the dizzy caps I could see arcing in certain areas. You can then try cleaning existing leads and treating to a wd40 type formula. I saw a noticeable improvement.

Cheers, Lee

Hi Lee,

yes it was a WD40 maneuver that 'fixed' the problem and I have recently replaced the Dizzys and rotors - Interested in the refurbishment with existing connectors for £80 -where did you hear about that?

Lee's post got me searching...and I found this!!

http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/ksearch/PEL_search.cgi?command=show_part_page&please_wait=N&make=POR&model=911L&section=ELignt&page=2&bookmark=6&part_number=P8994-964B

Do you have a UK source, Lee?

Cheers

I'm sorry - when I looked through my web history there were so many possible websites that I can't say for sure which was the one.

To be honest, I'm not sure I would recommend - they took a while to call back (2/3 wks) and when they did they needed to find somemore info and never called back. The price was definitely ~ £80 so it must be a fairly easy task to replace the leads.
