Best of luck in getting the hose fittings off the old one ... I have a spare filter very like that in my workshop from the last time I serviced it, as I couldn't shift the fittings on the old one ...

You'll find that getting the hose fittings off the old one is a breeze ... I have a spare filter very like that in my workshop from the last time I serviced it, as I couldn't believe how easy it was to shift the fittings on the old one, it made the job was a complete pleasure. In the light of such unmitigated joy, I felt the need to buy a spare, so any time I am feeling gloomy I can change it and it will lighten my whole mood ...

it's usualy the pipe nut that siezes to the fuel pipe. applylots of penetrating fluid
over as long a period as possible and if the nut has siezed if you can undo one end the othr can be removed by tuning te filter and holding the nut still.
Hope that makes sense, it woked for me.

That's Porsche over-engineering for you, though at today's prices it probably holds about a tenners worth of V-Power.

Glad to have been of help!

Bergen - thanks. I couldn't shift either end, despite liberal application of pen spray.

I'll have another go next time I service it I think. Last time was on a slightly grey day, and it was cold, and I wasn't *that* inclined to spend hours under the car fighting it. Hopefully next time it is serviced it'll be warm and sunny and the nuts will veritably drop off!
