Huge Grin !

Three weeks ago I shared my doom with you , It is only fair I share my joy too"¦

Yesterday I went and picked it up , the following had been done to it:-
1.Cams Replaced, New cam chain , various oil seals while they were in that area.
2.Cam belts and all pulleys.
3. New Disks, Pads, hoses and refurbed brake calipers on all corners.
4. Performance Chip.
5. Wheels refurbed and shod with new Toyo Proxes
6. Fuel lines replaced
7.12K service.

It was only yesterday that I fully appreciated how this car was suppose to perform and handle, I had a big grin prior to spending several thousand pounds on it now I look like I'm The Joker who's escaped the clutches of Batman and Robin in a 944 S2.
I can not believe the difference, throttle response is amazing ,handling is rock solid, acceleration is much more rapid and it now stops as well as it goes. Why was I so concerned about spending all this extra on the car? Because now I feel every penny has been worth it. And I have brought a car back to the life it should have.
Now I am going to concentrate on getting the interior tidy, Needs a new steering wheel as all the thread is coming away, also needs a new digital clock and a set of mats.
The Sills are going to be done in the next month. ( Or should that be cills Paul did you ever get to the bottom of that one or is opinion still divided ? )

MANY thanks to you all for the moral support and advice and a big thankyou and recommendation to Ollie and his team at RPM near Aylesbury for getting it sorted for me.

I look forward to showing it off !

Andy AKA The Joker

Well done! via work I regularily ride in new BMW's or my own SAAB 9-5, but when I get to drive my S2 I am reminded what an incredibly good car these are. Don't ever sell it, keep up the maintainence and these cars will last a lifetime.

Nice one Andy great that you have your car up and running again.you cant beet the driving fun of the 944[;)]

Congratulations Andy [:D]

It's only when we spend a truly large sum of money on our cars that we realise even though we thought they were great they had in fact declined ever so slightly over the years. Getting them back to peak condition is like getting a new car all over again.

great news!

did it need a new cam then or what?

all this talk of driving well i sure hope they drive as well as people say, i thought the lux went well but cant wait to try the later one!

did it need a new cam then or what?

Yes it needed two new cams - The cog that takes the chain on the one cam looked like it had been repaired by someone and the teeth were looking tired. And the case hardening on both was wearing away.

Talking of a huge grin, I had my 944T out at Silverstone yesterday. Awesome. My day was made when too different people (both racing drivers) told me that the car looked quick & when an instructor told me that I had just nailed Copse about as fast as it was possible to go in that car!!!!!

The GT3 was still way quicker, though![:(]
