Any body going?

Rick and I should be orchestrating a rolling meet on the M1 but haven't agreed a time yet.

Any other meets any where? Seems very quiet this year.

I was just thinking the same - I do not want to be there on my own, but it is my intention to be there. I could suggest the South Mimms meeting point, but last time I think it was only 3 of us who turned up there so that hardly seems worth it.

Had planned to come from Suffolk. Is it a good day? Oh and by the way, Where exactly is it. Do you have a post
code for sat nav?
Paul

I've been trying to find out the opening time with no luck so far, I can't find any of the usual adverts in the magazines this time.
I'm hoping that if it starts early enough (9ish) I can spend an hour or so there first thing and then head into work afterwards.
Best regards,
Peter.

Following discussions with Mr Cannell the proposed meeting is 9:00am @ South Mimms. (so if Fen makes it that could be three of us then) [:)]

I've been trying to find out the opening time with no luck so far....

It's a car boot sale (literally [:D]) so it will be about 7:00am .

Don't know, but have assumed we will get there at about 10:00ish as there is only so much tyre kicking that can be done prior to adjourning to the Pub for lunch.

Thanks John, that's perfect, that means I can get back to work in time for my colleague to go off you watch a football match (yawn!).
I doubt I'll get to see you tomorrow, but I might be leaving as you arrive. Of course this means I can get my hands on all the tasty stuff before you get there [;)]
Best regards,
Peter.

Thanks John, that's perfect, .......

I was guessing so don't assume I am right. [&o]

You best leave anything I might want well alone. Look what happened to Gareth's car when he stole that rear spoiler from me.

'tis my intention to be there, then. I will be in the hearse though as I have an air-con system to bring.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Also I have 10 years worth of Porsche Post mags which are going out one wy or another so if anyone wants them I can bring them and hand them over tomorrow. Failing that they are getting pulped.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

You are a serious light weight. Perhaps I'll go in Jasper then - the AWD could be usefull if the field gets wet [:)]

I have an air-con system to bring

That is no excuse. It must have fitted in the car previously [:D]

Ok. How about this: I have loaned my GPS receiver for TomTom to a friend so I need to come in the hearse to use the built-in sat nav as I have a terrible sense of direction?[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]If you don't buy that we'll just have to go with: I'd far rather drive in leather, air-con and automatic luxury than fight with noise, heavy steering, juddery clutch and 3mm thick seat padding. I've got to drive the bloody 944 for 1,500+ miles next month so I've no desire to add another 500 this month...[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I'll bring the '44 to the GP test day if work allows me to go.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

944's carry a lot - but serious shoppers in other Porsche models need to bring alternative transport.

I know I would not have got the set of wheels and tyres I bought a couple of years back, in the Boxster...

And go to another event [:(] I fear this may see the end of Husborne. Even fewer stands this time, any less and you wouldn't realise it was there at all.

Disappointed that more couldn't make the pub for lunch but good to see Fen, Ben, Rick, Les & Len.

I think we managed the same total man-hours in the pub as on a usual event with twice the total numbers....[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I didn't realise how much I'd caught the sun until I got home.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

The only reason it was so empty was that I bought all the good stuff before you lot bothered to turn up [;)]

Reality of course was that I came away not having spent anything either. Very disapointing!

I had a chat with Alan (the organiser) and I think he said the one he had this time last year was of the best turn outs he'd had, so it seems really quite unpredictable really, rather than a downward trend as such.

I know I mentioned this on Titanic a while back but I am seriously considering having a stall next time out, as I have a few odds and ends to get rid of, but as I don't really have enough stuff I'd suggest that any other 944/24/68 owners could bring along items that could be sold. All you'd need to do is price up the parts and bring them along at the start of the day.

If there are enough people interested I'll book a slot with Alan. What do you all think? The response last time I mentioned this on Titanic was promising so if that's still the case then I'll get it organised.
Best regards,
Peter.
