Hydraulic chain tensioners??

Hi I have been reading up on projects worth doing on my 1983 sc and one mod recommended is fitting the hydraulic chain tensioners, however I have been told that mine should have them fitted as the last sc had this mod from the start, can anybody verify this and how do I tell if it has them fitted already.

You'll have thin brass pipes plumbed into the the rear mounted cam chain covers
