I can't quite think of the words......

Fair enough, buy a 944, get carried away, buy as much sh1t as you can get your hands on like bonnet scoops, sill covers and dodgy badges, but to then go and raid the mx5 catalogue for a luggage carrier takes the pi55.

Horrific or not it would probably break from his asking price.

Only the other week I saw a high mileage 951 purchased for £3.5k to be stripped for spares. It was a shame since the car did seem like quite a good runner bar the bodywork (lower wings, sills and rear arch wells on on the 'to do' list).

I hope everyone spotted the turbo badge tagged on to the rear Porsche script decal and I'm fairly sure the 3.0 badging is from a Ford Granada! [:D][:D][:D]

I almost want to buy it just to return it to standard with a "before and after" picture book but the orange stains eminating from the side skirts tell me it would likely be a lot more than a cosmetic job.

It's not too far away from me ,and I have a strange desire to go and look at it. Just to see how bad it is in the flesh. I did notice though that the back end of the sills and the bottom of the wings are rotten ( The beautiful side skirts don't quite cover it ) But the na few spares - engine gearbox etc might come in handy so I may well go and look.

The job lot of spares is way more attractive than the complete car if you can get the whole lot for sensible money.

Off topic, the photo of the rear splitter shows a caking of a yellowy substance on its underside. Does anyone know what this stuff is?

Various areas on the underneath of my car have a coating of this stuff but its not uniform and i've never seen anything like it before. Any ideas?

There have been many example of horrifically "modified" 944's that have graced these forums over the years and this one is right up there with the worst of them ! [&o]

Noooo, this one is tame, where is the one with the fishtank in the boot covering the four exhausts where the numberplate should be?
