I could not resist another S2

After having sold my S2 a while ago , I was left longing for another . What best excuse than to purchase an S2 Cabrio as I have never owned one before .

I can across this little beauty on ebay and got the bidding fever !

I put my best bid at 2800 and thought I would not win it , but next morning checked the listing and I did , no one else bid .

What did I purchase for my money you might ask , well to my surprise it is a pretty good one !!

1991 with 86K full service history ,M.O.T till Feb 15, new roof recent full paint and avo rear shocks .

It had a genuine set of Cup 1 17inch alloys fitted .

So what's the bad bits then , unfortunately due to expense of repair , light N/S/F bumper was registered a Cat D

Has some amount of rust on both lower rear wheel arches , very small amount , fuel lines need doing and one of the front driving lamps need to be replaced.

Needs a little TLC but overall I am happy .

The previous owner replaced all the belts less than 200 miles ago .

I think it has been stored away for over ten years , big gap in service history miles to date .

The engine sounds really well and I drove it briefly and it felt nice and tight .

I am not bothered about the Cat D as it is not of great value and is still in great shape .

I sold the Cup alloys and purchased a set of 18inch BBS Classic ll with the center part done in black .

Before I tax it and insure it I will go right through it to make sure it is right to drive .

I will take the cam cover off and check slides , oil change , check thermostat and replace coolant , brake fluids and I noticed the rear inner drive shaft seals are leaking and need sorting.

The gear change is lazy and the rear linkage bush needs replacing .

Every thing seems to work and the electric roof goes up and down fine .

I will get a new Porsche rear script .

No accounting for taste. My turbo cab has cup ones on it nd they look b good. BBs nice wheels until you try to clean them. Arms like an octopus with an eye on the end of each finger comes to mind.

I had a couple of days off work to enjoy the new toy ! I fitted the 18inch BBS wheels and took it for a good 60 mile round trip .
I did encounter a few teething faults ! Some one did a shocking wiring job that made no sense what so ever ! Well there was white smoke coming from under the glove box !
I pulled over right away and luckily I brought my tool box with me just in case .
Removed the glove box and could not see anything , removed the fuse box and again nothing obvious .
I thought it was the starter motor playing up and chanced it back home , about 30miles .
Made it home safe and today had chance to inspect it right through.
one off the motion sensors had been taped to a live wire ???? The thin Aux type wire had burnt just behind the glove box .
Lucky escape !! I removed all the bad wiring and put every thing back together and took it out for an hr this evening .
Trouble free thank the good lord and myself :)
