Well I have joined the realms of being a Boxster owner!!!! Have got myself a 2000 2.7 Boxster with a "sport design pack" on it.

There are the obvious interior upgrades, but can anyone give me a definative of what the pack includes?

Many thanks

Phil

Welcome Phil

Unless someone beats me to it I'll dig out my old MY2000 brochures. I know it gave you A/C and 17" wheels.

JCB..

I opted for the Sport Design Pack on my MY2002 2.7 Boxster, factory option code P70 and it comprised of the following:

Black leather sport seats
3-spoke leather steering wheel
Leather finished handbrake grip, door handles, gear knob, airbag covers, roll bar trim, cover of center console, and
upper part of instrument cover.
Black diamond foil finish* on side pads of center console front, dashboard, door panels, side panels of center console. *I can't remember the marketing name Porsche used for this?
Painted "Artic Silver" finish on bottom of instrument bridge, switch plates, seat buckets, switch plates on seats, outer seat fittings, center console, hand brake cover, handbrake lever, ash tray cover plate and lid, door handle tube left and right, panel in front of door lever, storage compartment lid, roll bar, gear stick knob insert.

This package cost me around 1,440 EUR [2,800 DM] and certainly didn't include Air Con or Alloys, which cost a further 1,600+ EUR per piece.

I had the sports design interior pack on my MY2004 (53 plate) 2.7, and Need4Speed's last post covers off everything I can think of.

Pound for pound I'd say it's one of the better value options Porsche provided (though sadly I can find no mention of it in the 987 price lists [:(]).

Nah

The Sport Pack for the 2.7 which gave you Traction Control, 030, 17" wheels and meant you got a free windstop!

JCB..

A free windstop [:D] for the cost of £2350
Sports pack.................
lowered 10mm, TC, modded suspension, wind def., uprated stabilisers, 17" wheels (only with leather interiors) Boxster only.

Opps, perhaps I need to be more specific. I was refering to the interior options available when I bought my motor - I can't comment on those available before then because I was still driving a Vectra [&:].

I think it cost around £1200, which when compared to the cost of something like the Aluminium pack seemed a good deal.

Which is what I said!

The Sport Pack for the 2.7 which gave you Traction Control, 030, 17" wheels and meant you got a free windstop!

And for the intellectually challenged:

Back in 1999/2000 when the 2.7 first hit the streets if you added up the cost of:

030, 17" wheels, traction control and the windstop

and then from the total you subtracted the price of the Sport Pack you were left with a lump of cash that was equal to the price of the windstop. Therefore regardless of how big a hole the Sport Pack made in your wallet you could sleep content in the knowledge that Porsche had actually given you something for nothing!

JCB..
