Guys without doing the full yawn ,'er, i ve been driving 911 s for 30 years 'another yawn................. anyone running negative settings rear end BE AWARE how fast inside edges go thru to canvas on tyres , regardless of make and especially on road use, where it all seems so innocuous!!!! Russell wiv Zanzibar GT3 had a blow out at Spa [Manthey settings ]saw the tyre and its just like mine that came off yesterday............canvas showing around shoulder even onto inside wall.......................U REALLY HAVE TO LOOK FOR IT..............RG mentioned trouble with GT2, but i never expected it on my little Clubsport and the settings are not as extreme as Russ or JC s ............i know why it happens etc but truly surprised how quickly ,have had to drive it to work and back 'cos nothing else in garage at mom has nt helped ,even so really shocked ..................TAKE CARE AND LOOK and dont find urself running on the canvas !

Flip Vic, I will have look ASAP. I can't remember the neg camber settings I am running, I will have to get my paperwork out. Redline Racing set mine up just recently.

Come on Doc ,get ur sick note signed and get to Silverstone on 26th......................even JP s coming down .................

One point to bear in mind gents, you will destroy the inside edge at an even more extreme rate if you let your tyres down on track and then drive on the road without re-inflating. 35 cold on the road should preserve the edges if you run a bit or a lot of camber.

Yup, I also reinflate them after track days.

I can't Vic. My partner at work has that day booked off already. And moaning patients don't look after themselves. [][;)]

Hey doc course you can get the day off, just leave a bag of smarties on the table,as a pick and mix and a message saying you have got a virus, take these!!!And take a week off.
vic a few year ago i drove down to the factory in my road 993rs,with 5mm of tread, got home on canvas on inside edge too.The autobahns are quite aggressive with the granite chippings they use, along with the camber etc.Good point for people to look at.One guy on our factory visit had to get a set of rears fitted at the factory workshop,he was running 3mm neg on a roadcar!
