Hi guy's,
Thought I'd share in what's making me euphoric [:D][:D][:D][:D]!!!!!!!! I've got a grin from ear to ear as I write this post...WHY? Well, it's been 18 months now I've been living in florida but my wife and I will be going home to Ireland tomorrow for a 5 month stay.....That's where my baby is ( the 944 turbo that is[;)] ). Most of you guys on here know the car anyway ( andrew sweetenhams old car ).

I've been cold turkey for 18 months and cant wait to get my boooooost fix!!! I have missed that car so much words cant describe and now I'll finally be re-united on wednesday:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:!!!!

PS. Is it normal for a grown man to feel like this?[;)]

Regards,

John Daly.

It certainly is John, I know I'm a few steps of euphoria below you as my own car gets nearer to completion.

Just be careful with that right foor after 18 months of being without 422bhp, it would be very easy to get carried away and we DO NOT want to hear of another 944T going to the Neckarsulm in the sky.

Make sure you keep us updated when you get home (I bet the DME relay has bust and it dont start [;)])

Paul,
It will be hard to keep the right foot under control, especially after 18 months without it but you are right, I'll take it easy for a while just to get re-adjust to the difference in power levels compared to what I've been driving over here ( my wifes minivan! )

I reckon he sold the Turbo, bought a DeLorean and is currently in the 1950's [&:]

Are you allowed to own a DeLorean in Ireland? I'd have thought you would still run the risk of being lynched.[]

So how was it?

Hi all,
Sorry about the delay in getting on here but have had a hectic last 6 weeks since my last post!

Anyway, arriving back in Ireland after spending 18 months living in the USA was an eye opener as regards driving on Irish roads...It was back to bumper to bumper on the M50 coming from the airport and then paying a toll for the privilege!! Road works everywhere...just a total pain and to think I pay nearly 900 euro a year road tax

.... for what?

Ok.....to the good bit

First thing I done when I got home was head straight to the garage to check on the car! ( I'm talking 944 turbo, no deloreans in my garage thank you

) giving it a good looking over I put the battery on charge overnight. Next morning got in and cranked her over....Fired right up almost instantly....no hiccups at all! It was so good to be sitting in my baby again with the engine purring nicely, I can only describe it as a shawshank moment! I took my wife out for a spin a while later and she couldn't believe the performance from the car, It really scared her, the accelleration is unreal in that car when the boost starts coming on...she couldn't get over it....lovely!

I'm presently getting to sort out some paint issues on the car to bring it up to par, It's long overdue some repainting in certain areas, the sills in particular. I'll try to post some pics as the works progresses. I plan on taking it over to the UK in november, My wife wants to visit London so It'll be a good trip for us.

Regards,

John Daly.

You should book a quick dyno run at Weltmeister/WRC Technologies and see if you can bag the top spot on the dyno league.

I have been thinking the same thing Fen! To be honest, I'll be happy hitting the 400bhp mark on that particular dyno, anything over that is a bonus

Bah I was looking forward to a ride in the DeLorean [:D]

You'll have to let us know when you're over John and if there's a chance of a lunch meet, it would be nice to see the white beastie again. Last time I was in it the rear hub started to come undone down the Hangar straight at Silverstone []

Next time you see the beast it should be looking dapper with the new lick of paint I'm giving her.

I would love to have been in her at silverstone, Andrew had mentioned it seemed to love that track in particular, I've only had it at Mondello here in Dublin and I'm not a big fan of that track, too many twists and turns, 3rd gear stuff mainly.

John.
