I finally bought a 944!!

Hi.

I went to see the 944s Andrew Slade had advertised on the forum &, since it looked to be a good car & drove well, I bought it. So, finally (!) I have found a car to have fun with. It's up for a service at Northway Porsche soon so, fingers crossed, the guys there will confirm the car is a good 'un.

Thanks to those of you who provided me with help on finding a car. Hopefully, I will meet you at a future PCGB meet & thank you in person (& buy a few beers).

Good news Cream' I hope you have lots of fun together.

You could always rejoin the Club and display your car at Silverstone at the end of the month [;)]

Oh no he can't.....

Come on, a bit more enthusiasm for the 944 Panto! [8|]

Entries are now closed. Unless, you have a proper gold-coloured car.....our "red, black and gold" themed display is lacking one vital component.

I'll be rejoining the club tomorrow night as soon I get back home & dig out my old membership number. I didn't know about SIlverstone; I might just be there (so long as the car gets a clean bill of health). Keep an eye out for C944OAN.

Take care.

Awww Paul! If I'd known that, I'd have held out for a gold one! Will hopefully see you all there anyway.

Hi Andrew. So far so good! Am waiting until it gets serviced before enjoying it properly but it is so much more fun than that old M-B I bought in a fit of madness & temporary onset of old age.

Don't diss Mercs; I've just bought a Cosworth. Unbelievably good car. It has distracted me from my quest for a 944, mind you, so I've switched on the radar screen again.

A Cosworth M-B I can agree with you on. However, I bought a 220E manual. I was tempted by the fact it had only one owner, 64K miles, a full M-B history file & (still) looks as good as new. It is in no way comparable with the pleasure of driving a 944. But, I will still miss it when it goes as I love the shape & the fact it was built to last. If only I could keep it too...

...and then you need to learn to drive it - that's one fine handling car you have there. When I pushed it into the bends a little bit it had loads more grip than I thought. I thought I heard a tyre squeal at one point, but I suspect it might have been you [:D]

Hey Mike! Nice to see you on the forum. I was squealing in fear the belts would snap! About time you got your 911 out of storage & took it for a spin with my 944.

Requires an MOT first I'm afraid, and I'm up to my neck in wringing another 20 horses out of the 2.0 16v golf at the minute.

I do dabble on here, mostly in the 911 SC forum, as it's closest to a Carrera 3.0, and I've been in the 944 area a bit, when I nearly bought that 944 from the woods in Bristol (as far as I know it's still sat there, and should be getting cheaper by the month).
