After much fun and a number of weeks looking I finally found where the coolants going! the plastic screw in section that goes in to the rad has cracked and was held in place by the hose. ive managed to remove the section that was in the rad but i can seem to find one to buy to replace it.

I think the part number is 944 106 927 00 100

It is Part 27 on this diagram of the coolant system

The thread is m12 bolt sized

The only problem is i cant seem to get one in this country. Pelican parts has one! its about $4! The postage however is $30, i feel its a bit steep for what is only a bit of plastic 3 grams in weight!

Has anybody got one in an old rad?
Are they a universal part for a radiator could i use another one for a different car?

I've noticed that I've now got a little puddle forming under that side of my 944 radiator too but I cant find a leak - this has got me thinking I may have the same issue - thanks for the heads up.
Part number : "944 106 927 00 screw socket" on my parts reference though. Dumb question but did you call Porsche?

Ask them to send it via USPS, itll cost a few Dollars. This is typical of many American firms who idly use the easiest courier for them, quoting fanciful carriage prices.

Ask them to put it in a jiffy bag and post it by snail mial. It'll take longer but will cost a couple of dollars.

Porsche will supply for a few quid - if it's not in the UK, it will be here from Germany in a couple of days

Be very careful when you fit it - IIRC it's a 17mm nut, and it doesn't take much effort with a 17mm spanner to crack it (ask me how I know.. [:)]) Maybe best to buy 2 [;)]

I got a brass bolt from Screwfix when mine broke -- does the job quite nicely if you use PTFE tape & it is cheap -- but don't overtighten it!
