Hi there.

Some of you might remember I was asking a few questions regarding a 996 that had some accident damage a few weeks ago. Anyway, I ended up leaving that one for someone else to take on, but found another one with a great spec, low miles and the colour I was after.

Have just heard back on the PPI (111 point check) which came through fine. Going to put a warranty on it and pick it up tomorrow night! Can't wait.

Now I just have to work out whether to keep or sell the 944! And whether to keep or change the orange lights!

Here's some pics...

Very nice car.

My 996 is the same colour but with the 18" turbo look wheels and the clear lights. I have to say, the clear lights are a worthwhile cost. They go very well against the black.

or you could the money towards a sports exhaust, assuming it hasn't got one?

congrats!

Hehe. As you can see, they're quite active in our area!

Keggers, what you might also consider is removing the black Carerra badge from the back and putting a silver one on. I have and it looks sooo much better. [:D]

Wonderful well done ! Looks lovely condition. Clear lenses would be nice, but don't think they're cheap. Can you get private reg plates over there ...would be nice to hide the '98' bit - after all, the car doesn't look anyway near that old.

Thanks Diesel. Nah there's no such thing as a private plate over here unfortunately, so there's no hiding the age.

Going to leave the lights as-is for a while till I replenish the bank account I think. Actually don't mind them so much to be honest anyway, especially against the black paintwork.

Greg nice motor! whats the mileage and how was the deal? I am in Dublin too. Are you loving it? I got the extended warrenty on mi8ne and have no regrets about it.

Thanks Denis. Yeah, I'm absolutely delighted with it so far. Gave it a good spin on the weekend so starting to get to know it a bit better. Its a world away from my 944!

It was pretty much exactly the car I was looking for with the right colour and spec (cruise control, heated memory seats, side airbags, traction control, full OPC service history, etc.) and with a reasonable mileage (67k miles) so grabbed it straight away.

Actually bought it privately but got it inspected by Belgards. Passed with flying colours. Only thing they found were passenger side heated seat not working (flashed red then off again) but fixed that myself on the weekend - turned out one of the plugs under the seat had come undone (plugged it back in and it worked straight away!).

Given its passed the 111 point test, I'm putting a warranty on it this week, although given the age I can only get one year.

Toying with the idea of a PSE now, but I think I'll wait until the bank account rebuilds!

By the way, I used to live in the Sweepstakes and there was a blue 968 cab lived there. Noticed you had one in your profile exactly the same - that wasn't yours was it?

Greg,

I used to have a 93 968 Cab in Midnight Blue, but I would have only been in the sweep stakes once or twice in it visiting friends. It was and I am not kidding you mint, it had 12k miles on it when I got it and had 29K on it when I sold it, and it was like new. Not sure it it was the one you would see. I sold it to a collector who travelled over form the Uk for it.

Regards the 996, I had Belgard install the PSE, your more than welcome to try it out on mine before you buy, its loud! more loud on mine as its a cab, my neighbour has it on his coupe and its not so loud from inside, I have the switch installed.

The warrenty has paid off allready on mine, I had to get a new window regulator, a new MAF, and a new starter motor as well as other bits and bobs, I have had nearly 2 k worth of bits done and the cover cost only 1.2K Euro.
