Can't be too long to go now... Looks like somebody else who will have their car back on the road before mine []

I'm not so sure Fen. I would say that they are going to have to mask Carls car up all over again so that they can spray the numberplate panel. Or is that just down to strange lighting?

I'm expecting a call any day now - the pictures are nearly two weeks old.

They did mention that putting the trim etc. back on was the most important part of the job - if they tried to hurry this up, it basically screws up the job.

Once back together, it needs a shakedown test, a full 4 wheel alignment / castor / camber etc, and an MOT. Oh, and a service.

The paintwork on the numberplate is spot on, just like the rest of the job. The roof needed a rub down as it was straight out of the gun when I took the pics. Remember that this was taken in a workshop, so any reflection from the bright white lights in the ceiling will show up!

The only problem I have with the job is that the new bits look new - the rest looks 15 year old. pic below gives an example, but to be honest, it'll wear with age, and a good polish of the old bits will help - I couldn't have asked for more attention to detail.

I now have a 10 year guarantee on the repaired bits, which more than makes up for it also!

anyone got a rough idea on how much a complete exterior respray is likely to be by a competent sprayer ?

If your looking at a full respray, you ca look at between 1K and 4k.

1k will give you a full respray (probably a very nice one), wheras 4K will give you a full strip down (which is alot of the cost in labour terms) and a better finish (i.e more labour to "finish" the job.)

You can also pay up to 10k for a "hand job" which will be like glass. I'll let anybody else make up the jokes[:D].

There is a well repsected guy down here (who has some bits of my car right now like the 17" Cup 1's) who did a cab in red for £1,400 I believe and it was a nice job from what I saw of it.
