Yep, ive left the memory of the Boxster behind and joined the ranks of the 944 owners.
Went down to Welwyn from Birmingham today and bought it.
944 lux on a C plate. Guards red. Needs some tidying as its been a little mistreated over the years and is a bit sad looking but generally ive seen worse since ive been looking for one and the whole point was for me to be able to take my time and do it a little at a time.
Unfortunately the guy didnt know when the belts/tensioners were done last which made me wary of driving it the 110 miles back but i had no option. It didnt miss a beat and pulled like a train though its now safely tucked up in the garage and wont be going anywhere now till all the belts etc have been sorted.
I will post some pics when i get chance and no doubt will be asking advice along the way too. Cheers all.
