I love my car

When everything is taken into account, my 981 is - for me - a very expensive hobby that I can just about afford. But I’ve spent the whole day out in it, on what’s been the warmest and sunniest day of the year; I returned home twice and had to go back out, either to the twisties or just to cruise around town. It’s a brilliant car that makes me feel great. I just wanted to share my thoughts with people who I know will dig where I’m coming from.
As you were.

Hoping for good weather today so I can stretch the legs on the GTS properly for the first time around Snowdonia on my way to Porschemerion.

My 981 is my first Porsche… it has blown my mind! The feeling is like no other. I have owned other nice cars but this feels different. It makes me feel something and not all cars can do that.

I have already decided my next car will be another cayman and I have only owned this one for 5 months.

My 981 is my second Porsche. I had a base 718 that I did not bond with and I traded it for a Mustang GT, an epic car which both bankrupted and tried to kill me. Had my 981 18 months now and like you, it just makes me feel great every time I get in it. Got a day off today, it’s sunny and warm and I’m heading out!

Covered 400 miles in mine from Manchester to the Cotswolds and around Warwickshire and Oxfordshire last weekend. Brilliant!

I’m also new to Porsche ownership and it’s car No 47 for me after owning multiple fords including Cosworths, SAABs, Audis and loads of BMWs, last car being a Z4MC with the fabulous M3 3.4 engine. I haven’t driven my 718S much as I have only owned it for 2 months however I’m very impressed so far with the build quality and the drive. I do however think that Porsche are light years behind the BMW for the infotainment system and how slick it is etc.
