I need to sell my 964.

Hi Again,
I'm struggling to use this forum so I'll put the details in in small entries.

The car is a 1991 Channel Islands import (RHD) first registered on the mainland in 1996.
Horizon blue with a blue leather interior.
3.600cc Manual gear box.

Hi Again,

The millage is high at 143000 but it hasn't been thrashed, the engine is lovely.
I've spent a small fortune replacing all of the parts that needed replacing with genuine Porsche parts (new disks, clutch, stainless steel exhaust system to name a few).

I'm looking for about £10 000, can anybody help please?

Regards,
Dave.

Amanda is looking, but I'm not sure if she'd consider a Targa, check the 964's for sale thread and e-mail her perhaps.

You might want to include details of the mechanical work, especially anything done on the engine given your mileage. Photos will always help too, I'm always looking for a 964 but it won't be a realistic plan for a few months yet

Hi Joss,

As far as the engine and running gear is concerned I've been using a garage in Bridgend who were on a list of recommended garages given to me by PCGB. They've replaced the clutch and disks in the last two services as well as a number of other minor things. I asked whether it needed any serious work inside the engine like bores or rings and they said nothing needed doing at the time or in the near future. I had bought it to keep, therefore I have been planning for the future where its' reliability is concerned. Unfortunately I didn't know that it was the car that was hurting my feet, now I can't drive it.

There were some photos from 5 years ago when I bought it, it really looks no different to then but now I can't find the photos.

Not having much luck am I?

Regards,
Dave.

All,

For info, having now spoken to this gentleman I have directed him to reputable trade buyers, since I think they are better placed to assist in the given situation.

Why thank you Amanda.

I don't wish to be rude, but are you running this forum?
Why is it up to you to decide the destiny of this vehicle?

I find your previous entry offensive in the extreme!

Dave.

For anybody still reading this thread:

I've managed to lay my hands on a digital camera, I'm in the process of uploading the software onto my computer which will take a few hours, but I did take some pictures of it yesterday which I should be able to attach to an e-mail later in the day.

In the meantime, I will wait for an apology from Amanda.

Dave.

Oh FFS!! [&:]

Technically, she does because she's the 964 register secretary!

I might be missing something here Dave but I assumed Amanda was advising that you contact trade buyers because they would meet your criteria for a fast sale, most of the time they pay cash within a few minutes of agreeing the price and the private sale route can take a few weeks. Otherwise I would try the 'for sale' section here as well as Pistonheads and autotrader

This is the funniest thread i've read in ages. I'm glad the regulars have a sense of humour and well done for diffusing the situation

I think she was trying to assist you, which is quite typical of the PCGB forum
sounds like a nice car you have - good look with the sale
George

Good luck with the sale dude, ....dont poke the people that you ask for help from, they are a friendly, helpful bunch on here.

I thought Amanda's post was helpful, you asked for how you might offload a 964 in a hurry, and she's given some suggestions ???? What gives, I'd have given the same answer.
