I Phone 5

My trusty Blackberry finally went in favour of a shinny new Iphone 5 s running IOS7.1

I tried pairing with the standard PCM in my gen11 997 and the phone wont find the device, I know that I'm doing it right as the phone has paired sucessfully with an Alpine Radio in my 964.

Any help appreciated are the devices compatible??

Thanks

David, is your car set for SAP (Sim access profile) or HFP (Hands free profile)? This is done by the dealership unless you have the very latest PCM/Sat Nav update where you can set it yourself. If it's set to SAP then it won't work with an iPhone.

Edit - Should have bought a Samsung.....[;)]

The PCM unit in the Gen2 seems a little fiddly sometimes...I have done combinations of having the PCM look for the phone and then using the phone to "look for" the PCM at the same time...think in the end I connected through phone interface... With my HTC occasionally the PCM loses the connection and I have to put my phone in airplane mode and then back on and it reconnects...

The other weird thing I've had is in a certain place in france near the swiss/german border where the PCM unit reset itself mid-drive on both the way down and the way back up...i'm blaming that on military satellites or something :) :)

The PCM in your car is definitely compatible with an IPhone 5. It worked fine with my 997 and now my 991. It may sound a bit simplistic but try turning the phone off completely and then on again. I used to find the my PCM "lost" my IPhone occasionally and that always did the trick. Good luck

Cheers

Thanks Guys, more research indicates I must pair via the PCM rather than the phone. Ill try it and report!

Does make you wonder where Blackberry are headed. I have no problems at all with pairing my iPhone 5s
