Tom

You are terrible, but I like it. Love the Wheels, spent the other night cleaning my Turbo wheels and got up close and personal!!! Have you noticed any difference in the way the car handles, presumably you required new tyres as well or was this a direct replacement cosmetic change

Anyway, enjoy them, and you dont need an excuse to come on down, Broadstairs is quite a nice place to visit on a sunday, even got a couple of nice ice cream parlours !!

No one will recognise you in the car Tom.... ou've certainly changed the look of your car....

I'm now even thinking of selling my wheels... everyones got them [:(] [;)]

Steve, Ice cream parlours you say [8D]

245/30's on the front and 305/30's on the rear - so 10mm up front and back.

front tyres were completely shot after Llandow and the reading re-run. The rears were under the recommended replacement depth with winter coming in. I couldn't fit wider tyres to the current set of wheels so got a good offer on combined wheels/tyres.

Also followed the crowd and got them nitrogen filled, so hopefully with winter coming in I ahve slightly more grip and more consistent pressure in the tyres.

Back could step out under power before so hoping the wider rear will calm it down a bit.

Front to help turn in and reduce understeer. Plus a bit more grip all around so hopefully I can get better cornering and corner speeds out of it on the road.

Might just have fitted the adjustable GT3 sway bars to help the handling as well[:D]

Is the nitrogen available only from specialist tyre places, also, who did your wheels, a local OPC or independant.

I found that the turn in with the standard 19" C2S wheels could feel a little light and lacking in the long power out bends. Not sure if it was down to my lack of experience or just the handling on the car. I will be interesting to find out hoe the new C4S feels in the same situation. Did go out for a little spin on Tuesday evening. With the sport chrono Plus button pressed, I wipped up a small windy section and was surprised how loose the back end felt (in an exciting kind of way), if you know what I mean. I think this has something to do with the changes to the PSM allowing alittle more play so I am looking forward to getting to grips with the handling. Think I feel a track day coming on some time soon

Yes I did fit the adjustable GT3 sway bars but am still bedding in with new tyres so will have to get used to the whole thing and then adjust the sway bars to suit. Bars and wider front tyres are definitely improving responsiveness of the front. Having to take it easy though for the first few 100's miles as new tyres are slippery

Tyres from independent, much cheaper than OPC

Nitrogen fill courtesy of the indi's local quick fit. fixed price though so topping up will be fun.

Thought I'd try it as the Nitrogen should not leak away as easily and should be far less sensitive to temp changes. In theory it should keep near fill pressure for some time and only very occasionally need topping up. Shouldn't get so high pressures on track days as well.

5mm spacers were out with the extra tyre width - Curse of the 2wd body. Its illegal/MOT failure for tyre tread to be outside the line of the body, 245/305's just fit without spacers but effectively widen the track by 10mm anyway.

I'd be keen on your views on the C2/4 S comparison-

Yes the chrono allows the tail out a bit more than the standard setting before the electronics decides to help, it can make for some very "clenching" moments

Nicky says she's going to call Jackie and arrange an intervention for the both of us!! [:D][:D][:D]

better get your Type II Tech Art kit installed PDQ:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

other than upgrading bits when they are due for replacement/repair I am now down to tinkering. The Dyno engineer gave me some thoughts to adjust the Induction kit for another 5 -10hp but more importantly better throttle response and acceleration. So will try something it'll either work or not. Other than that we had to Jury rig the drop links for the GT3 sway bars to fit, so I'll have to replace the drop links with the race car ones sometime soon (marginal cost).

Must say on a run out today it made the turn in much sharper and the car felt more agile[:D]

I just got the final quote on the kit and the parts costs is so out of my price budget it's not even funny. That's the problem with a 1.10 GBP to EUR rate!!! []

I am going to investigate importing the parts from the US but given how expensive they are in Euros in the first place then I still can't see a way that I can afford the kit [:(]

Same way that I need to go to afford a 998/1 Turbo with goodies - Getting a new job[]

Wouldn't help me Tom unless I started robbing banks on the side (hmmm, I do have some excellent getaway cars now)...

Given the choice between an RS6 on the drive or a TA bodykit for my Turbo plus money in the bank, I choose the RS6 any day. I am just trying to have my cake and eat it - all at the same time. I must learn patience... [&:]
