I wish the 911 would sell ............

as I've seen a couple of bargains that I'd love to own but I don't want to be left running 3 cars.......just way too expensive!![]

I really want to go back to a classic 911 or maybe a 928 as my Porker for the Porsche Club days etc and a little softop Fezza for fun days out....360 Spyders are such good value at the moment having owned a coupe, just amazing to drive.......I'd love another.[:)]

The Range is just the job for the pish weather we get though, and I'm worried a nice classic will get spoiled sitting outside, even with a cover on it![8|]

Just a deal on my 911 would be nice though! Had a GT3 clubsport part-ex but it's no use to me with roll cage etc as I need back seats for the boys!!![:(]

Liking these at the moment:

Black 911 Supersport: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=663741
Needs the amber idicators back!!

White 928S4: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3288921.htm
Would need wheels and a re-trim I think in black leather/carpets with those 18" veloce split rims in silver/black.....and cup mirrors.....

964 Targa: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3146478.htm

I've had a wee itch for a 360 spider also, even went to see a couple, but starting to think they aren't standing up to age well (or at least, there is ÂŁ0 difference between the good and bad ones out there!)...so many have rust bubbles and every one I've seen needed the suspension completely refreshed.

Don't do it greg.Ferrari's are like baby elephants good to look at but you wouldn't want to own one.

Having owned a 360 before I'd very much disagree, a truly fantastic drive and not much more ownership "trauma" than a porsche (in fact, significantly less than the GT3) - its just a case of finding a "good" one which has been looked after in the way it deserves.

Couldn't agree more Greig, I thought they were a great car however I had my Power Warranty from Ferrari and it was well and truly pumped hard when I had mine....I reckon about 6k...but that with main dealer full parts and labour prices...reckon indie could have been a third of the price. so in essence estimate about 2k a year max for all 911 and 360's and I think you're in the right zone!

Still want a 928 to have ticked the box. Loving that white one. I wonder if having 3 cars is excessive for a man with no garage? lol

You had personal bad experience with a GT3??

I didn't mean they are not good cars they very clearly are really good cars.I just think that Ferrari's have a certain image that although people like to see one on the road I feel that they would be a liability as far as leaving it parked anywhere.A couple of friends have owned then and said that they couldn't really go anywhere in them cause every time you left it on it's own you would come back to find scratches, nose prints, finger prints, and a fair amount of spit on it.
I just think the general public are a very ignorant bunch who don't really like to see other people owing beautiful things.

Better not paint your 944 'RED' then, in case it gets mistaken for one of 'THOSE' cars. Even though it is the 'FASTEST' colour. lol.

Alan.

First day I had my 944 feelin dead chuffed driving through village centre and heard this voice WOW a Ferrari - yes it was RED S2!

Yes, most thinking back it was the most unreliable car I've ever owned - coolant leaks, battery cutting out for no reason, clutch disintegrating, coil pack failures, leaking struts, gearbox casing cracked....all made worse by horrific service from the OPCs while under warranty.

No defo not going red. It will be VW Monza Blue a beautiful colour that was only available in 86 and 87 on mk2 gti's and scirroccos.

Crikey sorry to hear that but I would think that's very unusual for a 997 gt3. I'm on the look out at mo for a gt3 with clubsport spec and trying to sell my lovely sorted 993 air-cooled so I'm heading the other way to this thread.
I had a 997s which I was bored with very quickly so went back to aircooled ownership. I've spent a small fortune on her but i want rawness but more power. I had a 355 this summer that I sold but as i didn't want it hanging about all winter not being used. I'm thinking the gt3 can tick a multitude of boxes.

I was just offered a yellow GT3 Clubsport too in p/x for my turbo and I couldn't give it away.........it had OPC warranty too. It had done 44k and was a nice 53 plate I think. see if you can find it. I had trade offer 32k for it. He bought a turbo somewhere so must have traded it.

Greigs GT3 was a 996 tho I think.

Tks for heads up though I'm after a 997 club sport spec gt3 now.

yeah I meant you could have bought this guys trade-in off me.

I'm just going to put new wheels on the turbo and do a few things to give it a makeover like a new front painted spoiler lip and get the car in top nick for next year and see if it sells then...tbh I might just keep it as it's costing me nothing to run really.
