Has any one any idea why Porsche have pulled Ice Blue Metallic from there colours for MY11 cars ?.
There is reference to not being available till MY12 or from November .

According to my man in Exeter it is because they are having trouble colour matching the PUs with the body.

Mmmmm, not too sure about that. I'm perfectly happy with the match on mine.

Yet when I complained about the match of the PU on an earlier speed yellow turbo, which was several shades out, I was told it was within factory tolerances and would not be corrected. []

That sounds a more direct reason, rather than just issues, can't really believe with modern processes this couldn't be resolved prior to using the colour in the first place.

Just passing on what I was told. Maybe head office know the answer? Maybe there is lack of consistency -some are ok, some not? Or maybe it's a cover up for lack of quantity........[;)]

Alan,

Could be.

If I get any further info. I'll pass it on.

Ice Blue Met. cars willl accordingly be rare and therefore potentially valuable. [;)]

Clive.

Or nobody will go near them because you couldn't match the paint if it had any need for a respray.............only kidding![:D]
It's certainly my second favourite colour and yours looks quite splendid.
I think there was a green colour they withdrew too and there was the same talk about the reason - quality, quantity or durability.

.................So it's back to the boring old colours that've been around for an eternity then!

That's a lovely colour. Well chosen. [:)]

Good luck with that.

It's not currently showing on our UK configurator. [&:]

Well I have to say that I was 99% convinced that my next purchase (hopefully 911 (991) Turbo) would be in Carbon grey, but that ice blue does look extremely good.....
