Hi All,
So far so good for putting together our next visit and Im now thinking of the next one. Before I look at different options is their anywhere you would like to visit with R21?

Also, do you work or know somewhere where others would be interested in visiting and a visit can be arranged?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

Jason

One suggestion would be for R21 to encourage people on to the forum? This was always a bone of contention between me and Martin, who never used the forum but set up the email "round robin" system.

I've always disliked mass emails; they don't encourage replies, and are often deleted without being read. Regions can become so much more interactive via the forum, or if you look at R20 even through Facebook etc.

To put it in perspective, this thread has had 17 reads since you posted it, and I'm two of them [&:]. R21 has never had the forum promoted, in fact it's been actively discouraged at Club nights in the past. Perhaps it's time to change that?

The issue is always that the long-term members like things the way they always were. Unfortunately, things move on, and we need to consider how the newest, or even prospective, Region members might be encouraged to join in. If we don't get R21 actively online, we will not be seeing new members participating.

Apologies for changing the direction of the thread, but I think it needs to be addressed. Currently we only have a small number of Region members who ever turn out, and even less who have ideas. R20 have really re-vamped the way they work, and it's been a good example.

Happy to help if I can. We have masses of information going around; the karting is a good example of how we get an email of dates, emails of payments due, emails of results, and sometimes complicated email conversations around the events. All that could be interactive if people were "steered" to the R21 forum, and the emails were stopped. By definition, everyone who can get the emails could be a forum user.....

I am happy to talk about it at a Club night if you want. [:)]

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the info.
I have taken your advice and set up a Facebook page for the region and will develop it over time. See you at the next club meeting to discuss.

Jason,
R31 have a twitter page which they say works well for them - Tweet to Porsche Club GB R31 - @PorscheClubR31
As you have set up the fb page it may be best to see how that works for us before setting up a twitter page.
