This car belonged to my Father in Law for a while, although I never actually met it!

Can somebody identify it please.

Very difficult from that photo.
The reg no looks like VGN 2G which, if it is the original registration would mean that it was first registered between Aug 68 and July 69. making it one ofe the first LWB cars, this year with a 2.0 motor.
The front indicators and small arch flares identify it as a LWB car (69-73) but it has had a later flag style mirror and a ductail added.
The black indicator surround and horn grill are from a 73 model.

Because of the conflicting signs and the fact that it has obviously been customised it could be anything from a 69 2.0 911T to a 73 2.4 911S

Thanks for that Nick.

As you probably appreciate, the picture I uploaded was scanned in from the original print.

The quality of the print itself is fine, it's a question of the conditions under which the photograph was taken [ Murhill - Limply Stoke ] All those different shadows. the colour of the car ...................... I imagine you tried lifting the brightness and the contrast?

Then of course, if the car had been custimised somewhat, as you suggest ................ difficult!

I do have another print, but the front of the car in particular, is very much in shadow. If my wife can re-find the original prints I'll try re-scanning, and see if any more detail can be picked out, but I doubt it!

Thanks for your efforts.
