I found this piece of plastic trim in the offside space below the hood where the ball joint is located. It has a part number 104309400. see photo attached.
Anybody have any ideas where it's from ??

Not had a new roof but car went back to OPC last month to have mods to solve problem of roof noises, under warrenty.

it looks like a bit of trim that goes over the roof centre hoop frame just under the hood (canvas bit ) and guides it over the frame work to keep it smooth at a guess i would say drivers side. i asked if you had a new roof fitted as you get these in with new roof/fittings maybe one had fell down.

It is the trim from the hood frame that holds the strapping under the canvas
It is usually very secure and our trimmer does not see how it can come loose it either has not been replaced or it is a spare

Thanks geeteethree and Paul. Would I notice it missing in the way the hood goes up and down. Should I be able to feel if there is a replacement fitted ?
Incidently the problem I had was the roof "flapped and crackled" at above 80mph and is now fixed.
Was the "fix" to remove this trim ?? just a thought

Good news ! Took the car back to OPC and they immediately sorted the problem and replaced the missing "plastic bit" back into the roof structure.
Thanks for your advice.
