Idiot in White Mitsubishi EVO

[blockquote]Whilst driving home from Porsche Swindon along the M4 from Swindon to Reading this afternoon, came across a tosser in a white 2005 Mitsubishi EVO Reg no EVO 96T with the 6T under the EVO 9 on the number plate (6T was made to look like GT).

He kept flooring it leaving behind black clouds of smoke!! And then slowing down in traffic.

At one point I moved across to the slow lane and the tosser undertook me on the hard shoulder doing well in excess of a ton, causing stones to fly up causing a large stone chip in the windscreen of my Porsche.

The guy looked in his late 40s early 50s, would love to find out his details so that I can forward him the bill for a new windscreen and have a little word in his ear.

Rant over!![/blockquote]

You can apply to DVLA for his details. Same process as applying for your car's history. But in your case you say you are looking to trace him for causing damage to your car and driving off. Assume your dash cam clocked him ;-)

You have his registration so why not pop down to your local Police station and report it.

There are cameras/CCTV all along the Motorway, and if he went on the hard shoulder, it is illegal.

Keep us posted!

That sounds awful! Definitely worth reporting to the police given you have his details I would say.

Sadly, this doesn't surprise me one little bit. Driving standards in the UK are little short of a disgrace.

I've managed to track down the driver

N*** F****** aged 47 from Wokingham, Berkshire

very close to my place of work!!

Hes previously been in trouble with the law

I'm glad you have tracked down the culprit, Richard, however I think it is against forum rules to name names in this instance, hence the edit.

Sounds like an unpleasant type who, for the sake of a ÂŁ75 windscreen insurance claim, is probably best left alone, unless you enjoy loads of agro, that is. [8|]

Clive.

One of the guys on another forum just posted

"I saw this car on the back of a recovery truck that day around 5:30 pm
Heading up the M1 ??
As we passed it we were commenting that you don't see many of them anymore etc ,, I was diffinatly plated
EVO 9
GT

And we presumed someone had bought it and was having it transported !!
But now looks like the tool probably blew it up , ha ha"

Oh dear, possibly a blown engine and a court case against him. Wasn't his day, was it? My heart bleeds...

Somehow I'm not sure 4 times World Rally Champion, Tommi Makkinen would wholeheartedly agree with you there! [:D]

Clive.
