Idle Control valve - supply issues ?

Evening All

I'm still finishing off the wheel bearing job and the reverse light (finally after 12yrs ownership...)

I do need to replace the ISCV as it sticks regularly.

Am I missing something regarding supply ? All of the new parts available are stupid expensive or not available

Has anyone sourced one recently new in the UK ?

Chris

Had considered this, I just thought for all the hassle of taking off the Inlet manifold (happy to do it... [:)]) i reasoned that I might as well put a new one on before putting it back together... ?

Let me know how you get on. It's winter job for me this year. Car has been hunting a idle for short periods occasionally when cold. Was considering a refurb but if the price is right you never know.

Here is some info that was on Pelican forums with alternate parts and report of success with an after market part

It has Several names depending on where you go. Auxiliary Air Valve, Auxiliary Air Regulator, Idle Air Control

Porsche Part# 944-606-103-01M 100
Bosch# 0280140169
Standard# SMP-AC351
BWD# 22660

This is also the SAME Aux Air Valve the same model year BMW 318i's have. I would almost guarantee there are others that fit but these are the best replacements I could come up with that are direct FIT and Spec'd to the engine. Most also don't cost $300.

Finally had the time today and NO SNOW to Change out the Aux Air Valve w/ the Standard SMP-A351, $100 eBay. Works like a charm. Cold start & idle issues 100% Resolved. While I was in there I also changed out the 2 Temp Sensors (DME Temp Sensor & Gauge Temp Sensor). After just Bench testing the sensors they are both at 100%. Cleaning them up to save for Spares.

Thanks Bruce but the above part is for the N/A 2.5L the Turbo part number is different both the Porsche number ( starts 930) and the bosch part number,

Chris

Brilliant thank you !
