Idle setting.

Trying to get a decent idle setting on my 1985.5 944 as somebody in the past has been playing around big style.
I have followed the (excellent) clarkes garage guidlines apart from disabling the ISV which is done by jumpering the diagnostic socket.
Easy....unless you don't know where the diagnostic socket is, can anyone tell me where it is????

It is near the clutch master cylinder on a metal plate screwed to the firewall, but if you haven't found it maybe there isn't any?

....or at least I thought it was.
There is a plug mounted to the inner wing right next to the clutch reservoir but it is a 7 pin affair (4 female + 3 male connections) not the five pin clarkes page displays although the pin arrangement is similar.

There is also a 3 pin mounted to the engine rear lifting bracket and another 3 pin on a bracket on the inlet manifold right next to the bulkhead (firewall) earth point.

Sorry no pics to help.

First plug is for the optional speed regulator.
Second one is for CO diagnostic.
Third one ??

For a RHD car the diagnostic port is on the passenger side close to the firewall. It has a black cover which lifts up and there are five terminals inside.

Thanks egan1, I've just checked and that is deffo the one.

Will save that task for another time however as I've just done the throttle cam mod. Very happy with it I am too!
