Ignition coil spec

Hi Guys, new boy here again and probably asking a silly question in his ignorance.
Have been given a new ignition coil, purportedly for a 944, but I'm concerned as it says on the side "Resistance 1.5 ohms"
I note from my Haynes manual, the specs are supposed to be:-
Primary 0.4 - 0.6ohms
Secondary 5 - 7.2 ohms.

Should I assume that this "gift" is of no use to us at all??

Measure it? Multi-meters are available form maplins for little money and will be usefull for all sorts of diagnostics and testing.

The figures are also in the workshop manual (available for free download from promax and http://cannell.co.uk/Manuals.htm) but from my memory of about 8 years ago (i.e. dont trust me at all) those Haynes figures look about right.
