Ignition coils.

Suffered misfire on the Cayenne Turbo. Traced to ignition coils cracking so nothing unusual there for Porsche. Two cracked and the others apparently showing signs of going the same way so all changed along with new spark plugs.Coils are cheaper than 911's but even so left my OPC nearly £400 poorer.
My point is, on an expensive work horse such as this, should we expect these failures after a mere 35,000 miles? Bet the Japanese wouldn't accept it!

think its quite unusual to have cracked coil packs on these as they are at the top of engine and covered unlike the 996/997 which are open to the elements..
porsche did have a problem with faulting coil packs on cayenne's where they were breaking down inside causing misfires , you should expect more than 35k from them as they recommend plugs at 40k or 4 years and you would expect them to outlast them at least..
