Ignition Key battery warning

Am sure this has been a thread topic before.

Just had the dashboard warning that the key fob battery needed replacement.
Only changed it a few months ago.
Took the battery out, tested it, 3.1v.
Put a new battery in, tested it before fitting, 3.3v (3v CR2032).
Put key it dashboard, switched ignition on, warning still there.
Started engine thinking running it might clear alarm.
Stopped engine, turned ignition back on, warning STILL there.

Anyone had this and knows the solution?

I'm not in my car and don't have the manual in front of me but don't you have to acknowledge the warning using the control stalk and the menu on the dash to get rid of it?
