Ignition key

I thought changing the black plastic bit of the ignition key would be easy but try as I might I can't get the shaft of the key out of the old plastic bit. Having retrieved the little springs several times as they ping out I'm going to give up for now!
Has anyone done this? Surely it can't be that difficult!
 
Hi David I haven't disassembled one, but I have built a new one and as I remember it was an effort to get the blade into the plastic portion, so I am not surpised to hear of your woes. For reference, a new blade is about £13 from an OPC and then it cost be £3 to have it cut, so you could go down this route if it all gets too much. Cheers James
