Ignorance is bliss

So, its been a week or so since I picked up my latest 944 (see http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=827626&mpage=2&key= ) and the more I drive it, the better it seems. Everything works as it should, all the gauges are giving the correct readings. There are no funny noises or strange vibrations. I have probably driven more miles in the last week than the previous owner did in the last 6 months [:)]

My dilemma is that tomorrow morning she goes to Andy Moss at SCS Porsche for a full inspection (I am no mechanic [:-] )- is my innocence about to be shattered with tales of what lurks underneath ?

I will keep you posted [:)]

Can't access the thread in the link. Your instincts are probably right, if it feels a good car then it most probably is. Good luck for the inspection tomorrow

Well its back from SCS Porsche and here is their report

1 exhaust bracket missing
3 drive shaft boots split
rear of sills (bottom of wheel arches) corroded - main sills replaced recently
alternator cooling pipe worn
slight oil leak on offside of engine- possible cambox gasket
slight gear box oil leak
handbrake cable poor condition
sunroof seal fitted incorrectly
slightly rusty fuel pipes over axle
offside engine mount worn
missing tailgate side trims
slight lift of front and rear calipers

oh and the 2 tone horn has only one tone

All in all, I dont think there is too much to worry about there.

Am I a happy bunny ?- oh yes [:D]

Yep, pipe from the front air intake to a funnel on the alternator,
Aircooled !
Must be worth a fortune now !

Just following up on this, she went in for her MOT this week.....

and passed with no advisories... am I feeling happy right now... you bet [:D]

But Andy ( SCS Porsche) advises she does need a new waterpump after I asked him to identify the strange metal on metal grating sound I occasionally heard []

One thing I have noticed in the last few months since purchase she has definately benefited from being driven regularly [:D]
