Can anyone tell me if there are both two piece and one piece rear seats in the 944 ?

My car looks like it has a two piece back seat that folds down but until i take it out i,m not sure.

I managed to pick up a set of black logo front and rear seats in good condition and the seller says the rear seat is a one piece fold down rear.

Can anyone tell me if i do have a a two piece seat can i replace it with a single piece one ?

Also my car has a load cover on the back of the rear seat and it doesnt look like it comes off whereas the new interior doesnt seem to have that (its not been delivered yet)

I think the front seats should be fairly straightforward to change over but i,m a bit worried about the back ones.

Are there any tips anyone has for me as i cant find a step by step for removal and refitting.

944s do have 2 piece (split back) and one piece rear seats - actually seat backs as the bottom rear cushion looks similar in either case. The 2 piece seats fold down individually and the cargo cover is fabric. It attaches to the body behind the seats with plastic fastners on elastic cord that use a half turn to lock into place. The other side uses j-hooks on elastic cords to clip to the rear hatch.

The one piece seat cargo cover is a roller blind style.

You can download the Porsche manual for seats from the Porsche site - at least gives you a diagram of the various seats and components.

As Bruce says they can have 1or 2 piece rear seats.
2piece ones were only an option late on in the production and so are quite rare.
If you push the button to drop your seats does on or both sides come down?
If you have 2 piece ones at present the single piece will go in easily.
If you have a single at present and the new one is a 2 piece you will need to put in a bracket in the centre. The holes should already be there.

just found out where my confusion came from

my car is not 2 piece as such its two seperate parts as in top and bottom but the the two piece that actually gets talked about is a split top part which i dont have

Every day is a learning day !!!

Thanks for the help

oh and apparently i have wrap around style sports seats which are meant to be pretty sought after i was told

perhaps i should just repair them and keep them and never mind the logo seats ive bought

I love the big bolsters on my S2, of course they need to be repaired/retrimmed but they are awesome. Check out the guy on this link, haven't used him myself but have been given some good feedback on his work (ignore the quality of the website apparently his work is very good). http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=577916 (from the Car Care section of the forums)

I personaly prefer the comfort seats rather than s[ports as on a long journey you cannot rest your arms the design of the high bolsters tends to make my arms stick out rather than relax by my body.
The CS Recaro Pole Positions in mt Turbo S though are completely supberb, after you have climbed into them [8|]

Took a journey down to Oulton in a friends GT3 MK 1 my arris was completely numb due to next to zeropadding on the seat base.....................very uncomfortable, surely a couple of MM's say 10/15 mm of extra foam padding will not affect the kerbweight it would be measured in grams.

Making a club sport stylee boot deck extension and removing the rear seats is on the "to do" list this year, got the black carpet for trimming in the garage ready to go !

I can recommend a copuple of good trimmers in the Midlands - both in Loughborough, as it happens. They both have a lot of experience with Porsche seats.
