My car has the original porsche immobiliser - little fob which plugs into side of steering column, beeps twice etc. you know the drill.
Anyway won't work now, no beeps nothing, car immobilised. Battery is fine everything lights up as usual, fans/pump crack up, neither fob thingy works, disconnected battery hoping system would reset - nothing! Only thing that may be diferent is red light in centre console seems to be flashing faster than I remember.

Any ideas people?

Thanks in anticipation, Mark.

Probably worn out contacts in the receptor. Easily replaced - either 4 or 5 wires to connect. Can be purchased from H&P (see the FAQs above for contact details). Unfortunately the removal of the old component destroys the actual fitting but it is generally a push fit which relies on moulded fins on the barrel of the fitting to restrain it in the opening. Pull it out with caution in case it has been fitted with very short leads. The replacement receptor has tails about 500mm long if I recall correctly.
