immobiliser cuts out after ten seconds

After a day tidying wires (!) in my '87 3.2 Carerra the Porsche immobilser has taken on a life of its own. The red light stays on while the engine is running (it should go out), then cuts the engine dead after exactly ten seconds. It then flashes every second in a self-satisfied manner - which is what it should do when the immobilser is armed.

Does anyone have any ideas what might have happened?

 
I've fixed it! I'd disturbed a connector holding two 3 amp fuses under the steering wheel. Both fuses were corroded. Once the fuses were cleaned up with some sandpaper it's all systems go.

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for posting back the solution Its sure to help someone. I would love to remove my immobilser. Its a pain in the rear.
