immobilizer woes

Hi All

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue i have had and if so did they get to the bottom of it.

Every so often if i turn my cars ignition off and sit for a while with the keys still in the ignition the immobilizer seems to activate and the only way of getting around this is to disconnect the battery to reset it!

This never happens if the keys are out of the ignition.

on reading the system there are no fault codes to indicate this is happening.

I am stumped as to why this is happening only happens once in a blue moon but very frustrating as i stalled the car yesterday ( new Clutch fitted) on a very busy roundabout on the M67/A57 junction and it happened then.

Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance

Steve

Sorry to hear about your woes Steve.

I've no idea what's causing the problem but have you tried using a different key (assuming that you have one)? Also, it could be worthwhile changing the ignition barrel if that doesn't affect a cure.
