For insurance purposes I need to fit a thatcham 2 imobiliser to my '73 E.
Can anybody recommend one and more importantly a fitter knowledgable and sympathetic to early 911's in reasonable reach of South Shropshire.

change insurers !

Most don't require this ..... don't go hacking into the electrics to fit one. Inevitably, whne ever a car on a DDK run has failed to start it has been because of some aftermarket imobiliser / alarms

Tony,

Had the same issue when trying to insure my 72S last year with Heritage Insurance, who at the time were giving me the best value premium quote. I therefore contacted Autofarm (Oxon), who recommended and fitted a Toad system. They are fully aware of the problems that poorly-installed products can cause and did a very professional job.

Sorry to disagree with other posters but, if you're fitting a tracker - which is a must in my opinion - they need an immobiliser to tell when the vehicle has been moved without authorisation. I've used four or five of these:

over the years and have had one on my RS for nearly 10 years without a glitch.
