hi all,

i have just bought a 1977 930 that has been converted to look more 'modern' at some point in its life. it now has 965 bumpers, a big bi-plane spoiler, boxy side skirts, rear arch vents and cup 2 wheels.

i really want to take the car back to stock 930 look. obviously the turbo fuchs will take some finding, but anyone know where i can get my hands on some turbo impact bumpers, whale tail and side skirts?

doesn't have to be OEM as long as it fits well!

Sounds like the conversion back to stock could be quiet expensive. I re-built my 1975 about four years ago with a 'back to metal' restoration. Impact bumpers should be salvagable off possibly another 911, sills are only sheet metal pressings that from memory were not too expensive, and were not a big job to fit, however repair sections for the rear wings, Fuchs wheels and the 'tea-tray' rear wing may be problematic/expensive. I suspect in '77 they were running 16" Fuchs so you may find suitable wheels from later 'donor' car or specialist breaker (Douglas Valley/Porschapart). Good quality 15" wheels were like rocking horse droppings so I ended up re-furbishing my exisiting wheels. I'll pm over the PET file, which is available off the Porsche website - it's a good starter for 10 finding parts.

Contact Dave Broughton at 911classic in Boreham, Street East Sussex.

I know he is working on a 930 where all these parts are being taken off.

cheers Simon
