Hi it's abit slow here so I have a good question to ask and an important one.

Drive your 912 and you can get exhaust gases in the car so how can we stop it from happening??

I do get a bit in the car I am sure so does any one know how to stop it comming in the car.
Is it just old oil burning off from the J tubes from a leaking rocker gasket?

Is it just a case of making sure the pipes are clean clear and atatched?

I get a smell from the engine with the heat off driving so is it just coming though any holes in the engine bay to the cabi?

One thing I will add is I get great heat and no smell from the car's heater when the car is ticking over parked. I only get the smell when the car is moving along.

Any ideas all.

Firstly Carbon Monoxide is a very poisonous odourless gas produced by your engine. If it is entering your cabin then you have big worries, firstly, buy a Carbon Monoxide detector from halfords, sainsbury etc. If you have that problem then it needs sorting.

There are two main places leaks can occur:

J-tubes that are holed (hard to see as most is inside the heat exchanger)
Leaking gaskets between head and J-tube (again, hard to see as most is inside the heat exchanger)

These are the most neglected as they are hard and expensive to rectify.

Even with my 'brand new' engine my daughter still says I 'stink of old car' when I have been driving...

Ok Gav there is a way to test the J tubes but they have to be off the car ,by the use of a compresser and blanking off one end. I think for the $60 for new bursch ones I am going to buy them any way and put them in my car before it gets shipped out. I know the heater bit is not on the bursch ones but I am confident that I can carefully cut them in half and reweld them back on to the new Bursch ones.
