Improved cooling

My intercooler is fitted near the bottom of the radiator for maximum air flow.
This causes my rad. fan to come on a lot. I have fitted a new fan with curved blades and now my temperature is more stable and the fan rarely comes on. This is due to the increase in air flow past the stationary fan.
When the fan does come on you only hear the air movement and the volt meter does not jump about so I think it is using less power.
Good mod for £80, particularly if you do track days.

Did you have to make some brackets to mount the new fan assembly OR did it bolt onto the original rad bolts.??

What model + type of fan did you get.?? And where from.??
Is it about the same depth as the original.? ie front to rear of fan.

Did you have to modify the electrical connections at all.??

Im interested to see the pics when you got them..

I did not make brackets, I did drill 2 holes through the panel above the rad.
You will not get all holes to line up. As you can see in the picture above there are 4 holes in the plastic and 4 dovetail lugs. the fan comes with 2 types of dovetail lugs at 90' to each other so lots of options for mounting. Most people will have to make 2 simple brackets.

The fan is thinner than the original.

Patchet from Demon Tweeks.

I cut the plug and socket off and joined them with a block connector.

Have you got any pics of the top of the rad / fan unit.??

Also what size of fan is it.??

It's a Turbo, cant see much from above. I fitted it from underneath, old fan out and new one in 1 hour later,

13' DIA.
