In Need Of A Replacement Engine!!!!

Guest

The saga continues and now it has become apparent that the engine at some point has been starved of oil, which in the miles that were done since purchase could not have been me.

I have 2 choices, a complete rebuild, or just go for a replacement engine.

I have been struggling to find a complete engine, so if anyone knows of one, please let me know as soon as possible. With Le Mans just round the corner, I am a little saddenned that I probably won't be going in my Carrera

I don't envy you Phil . Do you have the knowledge or facilities to rebuild yourself? If not then buying a replacement engine is a minefield unless you can get a warranty or guarantee of some sorts on it's integrity. If you are planning on keeping the car then a rebuild from a reputable company is the best option but make sure you use a builder known for quality work they shouls be rebuilt in clinically clean conditions by an experienced Porsche engine builder only.

I am using a place just outside of Leicester called Motawerk to carry out the rebuild/replacement.

He has a great reputation and is a Porsche Specialist having been the workshop supervisor when Leicester had it's own dealership.

As I said, if anyone knows where I can get an engine, it would be appreciated.

Regards

Phil

Phil,
why don't you try a few wreckers, most will have one.
Malcolm Mackay (member) sold his 3.2 onto a wrecker, complete with mtr.
Either that, or buy a short mtr (new), and put all your stuff on it?[8D]
