Independant Porsche Servicing in west Mids

Hi Guys as you know I've just purchased a 944 turbo and would like to get it serviced although it seems fine. But just for peace of mind. Can you recommend garages or guys local to Wolverhampton as word of mouth I find usually the best.
cheers
Greg

Well there is Autobahn (PCT I think their servicing arm is called) is based in Coventry. I've never used them myself but my previous owner did.

I would strongly recommend Zentrum in Nottingham. A bit of a treck from Wolverhampton I know but well worth the treck for a couple of visits a year in my opinion. Although Derby is close to Nottingham i'm the far side of Derby to Nottingham and Zentrum is the far side of Nottingham to Derby so i've got a significant treck there especially when you consider the horrendous traffic in and around Nottingham, but i'd not consider changing.

Last time I took my car in for a service Mike did mention he was looking for new premises and hinted there would be an invite for some sort of do at some point in the not too distant future. Given that was back in November I can only guess he has not yet found somewhere suitable so i'm still waiting - and hoping it will be a bit easier to get to!

Even though a lot of us have had problems with mail order parts I do know a couple of 944 owners who have been very happy with servicing at http://www.porscheshop.co.uk in Halesowen, West Midlands

Their menu prices seem very reasonable - both belts for £220, and a clutch for £630 on an S2/Turbo (plus vat)

I'll give PCT in Coventry (part of Autobahn, as mentioned) a thumbs-up. It's on the 'right-side' of Coventry as far as Wolverhampton is concerned - half hour trip.

I wouldnt and dont take my 944 and 968 to anyone other thna EMC in birmingham.

You don't like PCT? Have you had a problem with them?

I have never used them for anything other than a replacement battery purchase... Didnt like the experience I had when looking to buy a car from Autobahn so I may well have made them guilty by association or location.

But After using EMC now for the last 4 years I dont think I'll be going anywhere else. I dont think I'd be allowed to leave now after having raced under their colours too!

Fair enough. I must admit the bloke it the Autobahn showroom is a snotty individual but the servicing guys seem OK.
